Students in Debt: Credit Cards and Tuition Fees Might be the Cause!

Students find them in debt from various reasons. Amongst the most common reasons are student loans, tuition fees and overuse of credit cards. Interesting enough, credit card debt is rapidly built by students all over the world and the United States of America is an unfortunate leader in this problem. This article will try to explain the causes to this problem and hopefully help find proper solutions.

Why & How Do Students Rapidly Build Credit Card Debt?

Many students find them in credit card debt because of uncontrolled spending habits. Getting a diploma isn’t easy. It requires time, dedication and lots of effort. Therefore, many students can’t find time to spend setting up a proper budget. Their credit card is always available and an easy way to spend money. Time passes, requiring students to handle extra expenses such as buying food, clothes, books, personal appliances and from time to time enjoy themselves.

Due to the lack of proper financial budgeting they rapidly find themselves behind payments and in a position where they must use their credit card to live their life at the standard they are used to. This issue positions many students in debt.

Student Loans May Also Cause Debt

Credit card debts is known to be the most common problem amongst students however, many students find them in debt because of loans they have applied for in the passed. A student loan is usually granted to a student that needs money to pay for tuition fees, but can be used for any personal use. Some students, once found in credit card debt, apply for a federal or private student loan that will help pay off their credit card debt. After getting the money needed, they pay off the debt and quickly go back to the same life style, obviously finding them in debt once again.

Typical Solution: Student Loan Consolidation

Students that have obtained multiple student loans totaling ,500 or more, have an option to consolidate them. By consolidating your student debts you can easily manage monthly payments and enjoy a fixed, often lower averaged interest rate. You can graduate knowing that everything will be fine. You have the time to find a job during grace period and slowly but surely pay back the loans. Consolidate student debt by doing research before getting a loan.

Alex Geana: One Frickin Day Auctions Off Models' Old Gowns For A Good Cause (PHOTOS)

A well-heeled crowd including fashion designers and models both past and present flocked to Christie's on Friday night for One Frickin Day's Charity Buzz kick-off event, putting models' old dresses on the block. The proceeds of the auction will go to hospitals in Haiti and Rwanda, helping them plug into solar power so they can heal the wounded.

Elettra Wiedemann looked ravishing in her sparkling Louboutins -- she and her dapper boyfriend James Marshall spearheaded this particular project, devoting two years' time, far beyond the charity's one-day philosophy, to help the sick. One Fricking Day started because Elettra wants to encourage more people to do less. The idea is simple: if everyone donated one day, and wasn't pressured to do more, big things will happen.

So with that in mind, supermodel Iman donated a Ralph Lauren dress she wore to the 2009 GQ Magazine Ball. I had a few moments with Bibhu Mohapatra. A J. Mendel dress crafted under his direction, and worn by Heidi Klum to the 2006 CFDA Awards, was up for bid.

Prabal Gurung gave away tickets to his show, and his package quickly outbid Jason Wu's, both Michelle Obama favorites. Adam Lippes looked great and I said hi, then moved on to hit on a Vogue writer's boyfriend. Richie Rich, even though he was on the initial press release, couldn't be there because he was making glittering t-shirts at the King Collective pop-up store downtown. When I ran into him later he was excited to hear about the event.

With the backdrop of Latin Master paintings awaiting an upcoming auction, the stunning crowd nibbled on garlic shrimp and tapas. The sheer trend has caught on and a few of the gorgeous showed off their black under-things, although quite discreetly. This was a place where all the men wear blazers and all the women read the glossy mags.

I also found out that luxury is quite alive, although drastically smaller and more incestuous than ever. Someone was telling me about a start-up where the fabulously rich who travel a lot can live in an apartment and have all the amenities of a hotel...while models who made their money strutting on the catwalks of yesteryear are out to save the world. One day at a time.
